18 days... but who's counting

So I'm having a hard time packing for the hospital.. I know that's weird.. but do any of you have anything special you had to have up there? I didn't hardly take anything last time, and we ended up there for 4 days... so this time I want to be a little more prepared, just in case.

There is the obvious:
  • Camera
  • Video Camera
  • Chargers
  • Picture outfit for baby

But really.. that's all I have in there right now. Oh and one pair of sweats for Jeremy. All he had last time was one pair of jeans and a t-shirt. My mom had to go to Target and get him socks and a pair of flip flops.. so sad.... Anyway, I'd love to hear of things that made you more comfortable.

Most importantly, your laptop (if you have one) so that we can all see pictures of little Zane right away....
I know what you mean. I struggled with this with Kyle too since we had ended up in the hospital for so long with Nolin. I made sure to bring my own jammies and slippers (nasty hospital floors) so that I was more comfortable.
Are you having a c-section again?

I'm trying for a VBAC... But want to be ready in case we are stuck there with another c-section. My Dr is pretty confident I shouldn't have any issues, but was VERY CLEAR that if anything starts to go the wrong way, she's going in with the c-section. It should be fine since it wasn't an issue with me but baby...

Hey Corrine- I'm excited to watch all of this unfold! I bet you are ready to see your little guy. Don't foget to take some snacks...my guess is that they aren't going to want you to eat (stupid rule) and you should definitely have access to energy providing foods (yogurt, granola bars, crackers, gingerale, etc.) even if you have to sneak it in. Some food might help Jeremy too. How about an ipod or radio with some relaxing music on it? Chapstick is a must with all that breathing, and newborn diapers make the best post-partum pads (especially if you cut them open and put ice in the middle layer!!) Best wishes, I am rooting for you.

I would definitely recommend a snoopy icee machine...just kidding. I just wanted all of my own toiletries and comfy clothes. I looked at gossip magazines as well between hobbling to the NICU to feed Mateo. I can't wait to hear all about it Corrine! This makes me want to have another one.

Corrine, I agree with Libby on the snack thing. Hospital food sucks, however I love grahm crackers and I ate a ton of them after my c-section. Thats really all I wanted. But snacks, cute slippers and a robe, Its easier to wear the hospital gown especially if you are nursing...oh, maybe a box to put all the glass vases in from the flowers that people get you, I had to throw some away because we couldnt take them all home. Best of Luck, cant wait to see pictures.

I could've sworn i left this comment on here...but hey here it goes (again maybe)...when I had Luke (2nd child) I brought an "I love you gift" to Gavin, something small but something that he would love...could be a present that his little brother brought along with him during the birth (haha), but sometimes it's hard being the "big" brohter when it was just you and now everyone isn't as excited to just see "me" walk in anymore...I don't know just a little suggestion. But a very "must have" is the chapstick, mags (during the not so tough contractions) and gum HUGE must for me, sorta helps with everything....can't wait to hear all about it and to see the little guy!!!
